Security Cameras Systems

Someone broke into my house today while I was gone. Makes me mad. I have a nice house and work hard for my stuff. Rural area, takes the cops 30 minutes tops to get to my house. I am thinking of buying a closed circuit camera system that records to DVR and a set of motion lights for the doors and an audible alarm system. What else should I consider. Oh yeah, I just got my .38 special out and made sure it fires good.

We are looking for a relatively inexpensive security camera for our house - not an “alarm system” just more of a camera to find out who has been at our house (someone has been at our house when we are not there; messing with landscaping, etc.). We don’t know much at all about cameras or what we need - probably something that could record while we were gone (it always happens when we are not there)… any advice would be great. Thanks!
I should add that the camera will be located on the front porch looking out at our driveway.

I already have an alarm system at home. Should I still install a home security camera?

It only communicates with the doors and the windows, and calls via landline if someone is breaking in. Will these two systems interfere with one another.

My wireless router is through verizon and my alarm system is ADT. Thanks!
