Security Cameras Systems

I’ve priced a base system (1 camera with infrared capability / 80G DVR / labor) for $1100 w/ a local security company. It jumps up to $2200 for additional cameras and higher-functioning DVR (160G). Can a regular man install this sort of system?

OK so I bought a wireless surveillance system with 4 cameras. i also have a wireless router laying around (D-Link). What do I need to do to pick up the camera signals on my wireless router so I can view them on the computer?

Any advice on any low cost home security? wireless cameras, motion detectors (that my dogs won’t set off) etc (
I watch a lot of “To Catch a Thief” but the stuff on their is expensive)

I’m planning on installing a “stealth” high definition video surveillance system with about 50GB of storage.

Planning on having two monitors and 3 small cameras that would be hard to detect.

How much would such a system cost?

Not planning on having it connected to computer. Strictly a home system.

I am moving home and want to set up a wireless distribution system to watch TV in a number of rooms. Similarly I want to use a wireless Audio system (Phillips Streamium 7000 seems good) and also a wireless network for my PC. I may also want to fit a wireless burglar alarm!!

Question is - will all of these systems interfere with each other or are they going to use different frequencies?

I have recently been looking into home security, surveillance cameras. I don’t know much about cameras and I was looking mostly because I believe we have had people snooping around our house every now and then checking things out. I know I heard voices the other night and I am very worried. I am also afraid however that other people can log into my system and watch me. After all if I can watch if on my pda or computer doesn’t that mean that anyone can watch me? And if anyone knows anything about good camera systems or what brand is good or anything like that please tell me im in the dark.

Does anyone know about home security. I want to hook up a motion detector to a camera and then to to a computer.
Is that at all possible or are there other ways of capturing the “bad guy” on a PC hard drive?

I have an older security system. Exxis is the brand with telephone connectors and wire not coax. I get audio but no picture from any of the cameras, three set up. I’m guessing it’s a problem with the monitor and would like to know if it is worth repairing or just replacing. Any suggestions on how to find the problem myself? Three cameras with motion detectors run through recorder. Have contacted Exxis and the monitor is obsolete and they, of course, suggest replacing with one of their current models.

Okay what I need to be able to do is record my neighbor when she is having her out bursts shouting and yelling at me and throwing stuff at my cars aparently the way I look sets her off. That is a whole different story though I need the audio and the video to work preferably through my computer or some reasonably priced system we don’t have a vcr and I want it to record over longer periods of time and to be able to make replay these things to the police when she lies about what she did. The police have gotten somewhat wise to her since they actually asked her what she meant by things the last time and she told the police that the dog was loose if he was on a leash! and that the curb was the street and that was where she was going to put the garbage she also told them that if she couldn’t make me move my car from the public road that she would park on the street blocking the drive way so we couldn’t get out once i have documentation of her threatining me I will file a restraining order

Will there be any interference with a 2.4ghz wireless security camera in the home and a 2.4ghz home phone?
